Classes enrolling now
Residents can enrol now for classes run by the Blairgowrie and Alyth Adult Education Association over the winter and into the spring.
Brochures for the classes, which take place in various venues in Blairgowrie and Alyth, are available in local libraries, Post Offices, doctors’ surgeries and shops in the area.
Classes for the winter and spring term include a 10-week calligraphy course at Create at Nest on Reform Street in Blairgowrie.
These classes take place on Mondays from 7pm to 9pm starting from January 15 and the course costs £45.
Also on Mondays is a Dru Yoga class in Alyth Town Hall from 7.30pm to 9pm, priced £40.
In Blairgowrie Town Hall from Tuesday, January 16, there will be a 10-week long intermediate Tai Chi course from 10.30am to noon costing £40, while a beginners Tai Chi class costing £30 takes place in the same venue on Tuesdays from 2pm to 3pm.
From January 23 there will be a six-week long crochet course covering “the basics and beyond” from 11am to 1pm, and a felting for beginners course from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, also on Tuesdays.
Both these courses take place at the Create at Nest studio in Blairgowrie and cost £40.
Create at Nest is also the venue for a six-week fused glass workshop which gets under way on Thursday, January 25 from 2pm to 4pm.
This course costs £35 and materials cost £70.
Courses on plants and gardens and floral art are also enrolling now but do not start until April.
