Guides raise cash on catwalk
M&Co hosted an evening of fashion and fundraising at the Blairgowrie store on Thursday last week.
The evening showcased highlights from the store’s autumn and winter range.
It raised £177 for Coupar Angus Girl Guides, many of whom modelled at the show.
Guide leader Jillian Ritchie said:“The fashion show was part of our ongoing fundraising efforts for the girls’ Baden-Powell Award.
“Six girls are just about to do their Baden-Powell Award, which is the highest award possible for Guides, and they are busy fundraising for their trip away to be presented with the award.
“They have got some ideas of where they would like to go but it will be next year before all the fundraising they have done is totalled up and they make a final decision.”
Jillian thanked the shop and everyone who went to the show or donated prizes for the raffle.
Shop manager Sandra Isles said:“It was a great night. Everyone had a good time.
“This is the first time we have worked with the Guides and we were delighted to be able to support them in their fundraising efforts.
“This is our fourth fashion show this year in support of a local charity or organisation and we are always keen to hear from local groups and organisations that would be interested in working with us.
“We also hold other evening events such as style parties and baby showers and are hoping to organise pop-up shops at local care homes.”
