Brownies’ presentation time
2nd Alyth Brownies raised £1177 at their annual coffee morning and presentation of awards at Airlie Street Hall recently.
Guider Sheena Fotheringham said: “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported our coffee morning, their support and kindness is very much appreciated.”
Awards were handed over by Mrs Fotheringham and Assistant Guider Jeraldine Proctor.
Presenting a special achievement award to Teagan Luscombe, Mrs Fotheringham said it was a speaker’s badge in two parts with the girls having to recite a poem and do a talk on a subject of their own choice.
Teagan completed both tasks and her talk was about her dog, Cookie, which her family rescued from the SSPCA.
The award for most promising Brownie went to Chloe Scott whom Mrs Fotheringham said always has a smile and is very polite.
She works hard and puts 100 per cent into everything she does.
Guiders have noticed how well Chloe participates in everything, not least when playing games and singing action songs which is when Chloe’s smile gets even bigger.
Ava Barton was named Brownie of theYear.
Mrs Fotheringham said Ava was quiet, hard working with an excellent attendance record, and does whatever she is asked to do.
Ava is always the first to put her hand in the air and wait patiently when Mrs Fotheringham wants silence.
Guides have achieved several badges this year and Ava has also undertaken extra badges at home.
Since she became a Sixer, Guiders have seen her confidence build with this role and she encourages the other girls in her group.
“Ava is a great Brownie,”Mrs Fotheringham added.
