Chance to hear about Karen’s epic 230km trek along the Outer Hebrides
An east Perthshire woman woman who raised over £4200 for charity last summer by completing an epic trek in the Outer Hebrides is hosting a talk about her adventure.
Karen Inkster and her rescue animals - deaf dog Pip and ditsy mare Connie walked 230km across 13 islands of the Outer Hebrides in an experience she describes as “truly humbling”.
Raising funds for the Blairgowrie Riding for the Disabled, Karen and her four-legged companions - the Deaf, the Daft and the Ditsy - coped with 16 days of rain, bogs, falling off, a missing horse and being sea bound on their own island during their journey, which they completed unsupported.
Karen will be talking about their experiences at the Royal Hotel in Blairgowrie on Friday, February 23 at 7pm.
Tickets cost £5.90 and are available from the Eventbrite website by searching for The Deaf the Daft and the Ditsy.
All proceeds from the evening will be donated to The Dogs Trust Scotland.
