Bird traps set on estate disabled
Saboteurs have been deliberately disabling traps set for birds on an east Perthshire estate for over a month.
Officers are now keen to speak to anyone who may know who has been targeting traps in the Bridge of Cally area since early May.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On three separate occasions between May 8 and June 14, three legally set crow traps have been deliberately damaged.
“Crow traps are an effective means to control pest species or corvids – crows, jays, jackdaws and magpies.
“This means of humane trapping is a valuable tool to gamekeepers and farmers in dealing with pest species and causing damage to these traps is an offence.
“While it is unlikely given the remote location that anyone has directly witnessed these incidents, we would still like to ask anyone who may have relevant information to contact us by calling 101, speaking to any police officer or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“Our reference number is 1644.”
