Legion branch to open as virus restrictio­ns ease

Blairgowri­e’s Legion Scotland branch is to re-open on Friday next week.

The George Street premises has been closed as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak but members will be permitted to use the bar from July 17.

The club has said that non-members are not permitted at the moment but added the situation will change as coronaviru­s lockdown restrictio­ns ease.

Last orders will be at 10pm on Fridays and 11pm on Saturdays.

The branch will be open as usual, from Thursday to Sunday, from the following week.

Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18 who believes in the charitable support that the Legion offers to ex-service veterans and their families who have physical, mental or financial problems.

Members enjoy carpet bowling, darts, dominoes, pool and, on Thursday and Saturday evenings, popular bingo sessions.

The membership fee is £20 and applicatio­n forms are available at the Blairgowri­e branch’s bar.
