Toilets and beer garden to open at clubhouse
Scotland’s progress through the coronavirus lockdown restrictions is paying dividends for the country’s bowlers.
With action on the green already permitted, Rattray Bowling Club has said the area outside the Middle Road clubhouse will be open from 1pm onwards to members on
Saturdays and Sundays as of July 11.
The clubhouse and locker room areas will remain closed, but the toilet facilities are now able to be used in accordance with Scottish Government guidelines.
Club secretary Cathy Kinnear said:“The management committee is delighted to inform members that, following the recent Scottish Government and Bowls Scotland guidelines, restrictions to club activities have been relaxed.
“While the clubhouse and locker room areas are still closed members will be pleased to know that the toilets are now open with the required health and safety guidelines in place.
“An area outside the clubhouse will open as a beer garden from Saturday, July 11.
“Strict sanitising guidelines will be followed for the health and safety of staff and members.
“Unfortunately we are unable to welcome visitors to the beer garden as the guidelines are for members only at this time.
“More bowlers are starting to play, so we’d encourage members to come along and have a game, followed by a refreshment at the beer garden.”
