TERROR ATTACKS

-

WEDNESDAY March 22, 2017

GROUPS of amateur boxers are present when the UK Houses of Parliament come under threat from terrorist Khalid Masood (also known as Adrian Ajao).

Driving at speeds reported to be 76mph along Westminster Bridge, he ploughs his car into pedestrians – killing three and injuring more than 50 – before getting out of his vehicle and stabbing a poilce officer to death.

The Italia Thunder boxing team – in the UK to take on the British Lionhearts in the World Series of Boxing – are at the House of Commons alongside members of Hammersmith Boxing Academy when the attack takes place.

They take to Twitter to update their followers on their situation and to let them know they are safe.

“Although at the time of the incident some of the #Italiathunder boxers were not far away, we want to reassure you that all are well,” the post, written in Italian, reads.

GB super-heavyweight Frazer Clarke, part of the Lionhearts team, says, “I can never unsee what I’ve just seen infront of my eyes at the House of Parliament in London ... God be with the police officer.”

All boxers eventually emerge unharmed, but our thoughts and sympathies are with the families of those who were not so lucky.
