Junior is a fierce talent and could invade Las Vegas later this year
EVERYTHING is going absolutely on point. We are on time, we are on schedule and we are fierce, we are entertainingly fierce. He [Eubank Jnr] is charismatic and fierce in the ring. Arthur Abraham is like a German tank, he’s coming to bring war to Chris Eubank Jnr. We know what he’s going to do, he’s going to bring war, he’s going to try and steamroll Junior and it will be good to see whether Junior has what we think he has, which is all the tools to deal with everyone and anyone in boxing at middleweight, super-middleweight and even light-heavyweight. He has the strength of a light-heavyweight and the speed of a middleweight and he can do all those weights.
He’s fresh, he’s not a fighter that’s been misused. He’s been built and he’s been managed by a fellow participant in me. So we’re on schedule.
It’s not supposed to be easy, it’s a business, it’s a marketplace and the marketplace is controlled by the great promoters who are around today, without mentioning any names. So to actually get into one of the lanes is difficult, it’s complicated, but we are making headway. We are creating this avenue, ITV Box Office is here.
If I fight in a year’s time, who’s to say that we can’t get eight million buys? Or 10 million buys, why not? The ITV viewer does not have to pay a monthly subscription, whereas on Sky you do. Over and above that is the pay-per-view buy. The fact is, four times a year, the ITV viewer can buy the fight, which is not even the equivalent of a month’s subscription with Sky Sports. Who’s to say that with 50 million TV screens, we can’t get eight million buys? ITV is encouraging me to stay with them because of this reality, and that is why we are staying with them.
We shall see, ITV. We’re going to be with you. And you, the public, we’re going to entertain you because we are fierce. I am in my way as a teacher and Junior is in his way as a terminator. He understands no reason when it comes to negotiating a win, he has no consideration, the idea is to seek and destroy, which is exactly what he’s going to do come July 15 against Arthur Abraham.
I’ve been training myself. Everything’s a possibility. ITV has – I don’t want to say begged – but they have been encouraging me to stay with them because of the amount of viewers that are actually capable of buying into a fight. And that’s over and above what Junior brings, which is this new generation of fighters. He’s a super fighter, I believe him to be that.
If you, the armchair critic or the journalistic critic, do not believe he is then explain to me. Let me see why you don’t think he is and proof will be proven again on July 15.
There’s George Groves, who has the WBA title. We’ve been trying to make this fight against Abraham an eliminator for James Degale’s IBF championship. We are actively looking to be on the show when Floyd Mayweather fights Conor Mcgregor. He could also be on the Gennady Golovkin-canelo Alvarez card on September 16. He is fierce, he’s looking for these fights.
Junior will take care of this one first and once he does, we’ll see if we can bring the British contingent to Las Vegas.
