CONLAN IN AUSTRALIA

-

SUNDAY June 25, 2017

RISING Northern Irish prospect Michael Conlan is happy to not be the main focus as he prepares to fight Jarrett Owen on Manny Pacquiao’s undercard this weekend (July 2).

“I’m expecting him to come out and give it a go and try to cause an upset,” Conlan tells Boxing News.

“One hundred per cent I’m expecting a tougher challenge than I got from [Alfredo] Chanez.”

With the main focus on July 2 set to be on Pacquiao in his latest outing against Australia’s home hope Jeff Horn, Conlan has the added benefit of less pressure being on his shoulders.

“I’m looking forward to it! It has been fantastic being the main event for my first two pro fights, but for this one I can just go and enjoy myself and not have that added pressure,” he stated.

“Yes [there’s less pressure]. I don’t think I’ve performed to even half my ability yet. So I’m looking forward to showing the boxing world what I’m about.”

WHERE TO WATCH PACQUIAO BOXNATION announce that they have secured the exclusive UK broadcast rights to Pacquiao’s fight with Horn this weekend.

Jim Mcmunn, Boxnation Managing Director, says: “We are delighted to showcase Manny’s fight with the unbeaten Jeff Horn.”
