PRIDE OF GOLDEN GLOVES

Sohaiki, Alegata and more impress Tommy Dix

-

GOLDEN GLOVES put on a show that would do some of our top promoters proud, with tremendous atmosphere and sportsmanship at the Fusion nightclub on October 5.

Ali Sohaiki (Golden Gloves) defeated Derry ABC’S Ethan Dorris. Ali showed lovely movement, boxing off the jab.

Both worked well to the body

and Ali was quick to evade Ethan’s right hooks.

Derry ABC’S Marvin Alegata took the verdict over Golden Gloves’ Femi Abdul Azeez. Marvin kept a tight guard, working his way inside to fire his own shots to the head and body. The pace was fast and furious as both fought for advantage. With the switch-hitting moves of Femi and a resolute Marvin their styles gelled. Their pace never slacked and Alegata received the verdict.

Schoolboy Harvey Turner (Phoenix Fire) won when the referee intervened in the second round of his bout with Joseph Thornhill.

Ethan Rutter (2nd City ABC) won a majority over Ricardo Jenkins (Phoenix Fire) in a bout that had the crowd on its feet.

Jayden Leach ( Team Kaobon ABC) was defeated by 2nd City ABC’S

Farran Farrell.

Kyle Page made it three wins for 2nd City ABC with a tight verdict over Harvey Dryhurst from Derry ABC.

Kory Smith (Phoenix Fire) and

Martin Lane (2nd City ABC) put on a superb display of beautiful boxing with Smith getting the verdict.

The show started with six marvelous skills bout. The clubs’ coaches should be commended for the way they have all been taught.
