BRITISH boxers came up against tough opposition at the Gee Bee tournament in Helsinki, Finland from March 9-11. Jordan Reynolds won gold at middleweig­ht, beating Sweden’s Adam Chartoi and home country boxer Ilari Kujalal, both on split points decisions. New GB 91&kgs Solomon

Kamskybek Kunkabayev, the reigning World silver medallist, in the final and lost a unanimous decision. 69kgs Harris Akbar reached the final too and met an elite Kazakh, World bronze medallist

Abylaykhan Zhusupov, who won by unanimous decision.

Londoner Valerian Spicer, who boxes for Dominica, has returned to internatio­nal boxing. She lost to Olympic medallist Mira Potkonen but took a split decision victory over Finland’s Anette Valtanen.
