WYCOMBE IS KING

Tommy Dix sees the Collyhurst and Moston show

IT must have been a matchmaker’s nightmare, with six bouts being cancelled at the last moment, but the capacity house at Vasa night club in Manchester on May 17 was still treated to an excellent night’s boxing on the Collyhurst & Moston show.

Host club’s Wycombe King gave a virtuoso performance in defeating No Limits’ M. Trainor. Wycombe King displayed aggressive boxing mixed with excellent defensive skills. Trainor went straight into the attack only to be met by King who blocked and parred his shots and came back with hard punches to the head and body.

Trainor is made of hard stuff and tried to stem the tide. However this night belonged to Wycombe King. His variety of punches were eye-catching and Trainor could not match him. He took a standing count in rounds two and three.

Collyhurst’s N. Ndebele gained a split verdict over No Limits’s N. Dube. Dube attacking with gusto forced Ndebele to box on the retreat. But Ndebele used evasive tactics and fired back with his combinations.

U. Zamir (Collyhurst & Moston) beat No Limits’ Anaour Khasal. Zamir gained the verdict over a resolute foe who never gave him a second’s peace. Khasal showed a good variety of punches and pushed Zamir hard.

Ellie O’brien (Collyhurst) was outpointed by M. Morgan (Beartown) on a split decision, while

G. Kileen (Collyhurst) took a split points win over N. Danson (Fit XL).
