GOLDEN GRAHAM

Nathan returns to winning ways

-

HAVING slipped to a sixround points defeat at the hands of Westbury’s Anthony Fox here at the Corn Exchange just a couple of months previously, Aylesbury’s former Southern Area champion Nathan

Graham returned to winning ways. He took all four rounds on the card of referee for the night Lee Every against one of the ever-growing band of Barcelona-based Nicaraguan’s Geiboord

Omier who, as expected, made it through to the finish without ever really posing a threat.

There were four-round successes too for High Wycombe’s Ben Smith and in the away corner Chatham super-middle

Danny Shannon who returned earlier this year following a lengthy layoff. Smith, who after seven paid bouts is yet to drop a point, condemned Blackburn’s busy Naheem Chaudhry

to his 23rd consecutive reverse by posting a 40-35 win. Meanwhile, 27-yearold Shannon, who hadn’t had his arm raised since September 2014, upset the applecart a little by edging out local favourite Michael Stephenson by the narrowest of margins, referee Mr Every scoring 39-38 in his favour.

Only bout not to run its intended course was the one between Milton Keynes southpaw Connor Wright, a shut-out points winner in his previous three, and tall Warminster puncher Paul Cummings, “Wrighty” securing his first inside the distance victory by way of a first round stoppage.

THE VERDICT Busy Mervyn Turner goes again only 24 hours after promoting in Norwich.
