WERE YOU A CHRIS EUBANK FAN OR A NIGEL BENN FAN?

Nigel Wright

Former English champion

It’s a tough one for me as both have similar traits: selfbelief, confidence, heart and determination. But, if I have to pick, I would go Eubank. He knew how to promote himself. People would watch him to see his show and some hoped he’d get knocked out. He was very entertaining.

BN Trainer of the Year

I’ve always been a huge Nigel Benn fan. He was my hero as a kid, and the first fight I ever watched was Benn vs. Michael Watson. Although he lost, I loved how exciting he was. I met him in Tenerife when I was 14 and watched him train. For the next three years I thought I was Nigel Benn!

Leading trainer

Nigel Benn, every day of the week. Not only was he entertaining with words, but how many times did he not deliver an entertaining fight? Never! Benn made fights entertaining with his style, whereas Eubank, in the main, needed exciting opponents for him to look good.

Wow, tough question. Two ultimate warriors, and I’m a fan of both. It’s like asking if you prefer the irresistible force or the immoveable object. I’m going for the irresistible force, Nigel Benn. He was always a thrilling fighter.
