DARREN DAZZLES

- Jacob Kilbride at ringside sees Tetley’s power account for Olah

DARREN TETLEY produced an emphatic display to dispatch Hungarian Pal Olah inside four rounds at the Bradford Hotel.

Topping this Frank Duffin promotion, hometown favourite Tetley [pictured] came out firing at the first bell with Olah wincing early on from the heavy shots he took to the body. The Eastern European began to duck low in defence, but Tetley came on strongly and after 55 seconds of the fourth Ron Kearney waved it off. Halifax’s Jimmy First stopped Manchester’s Michael Horabin at 1-08 in round four. Kearney intervened after a third knockdown of Horabin, who displayed almost no head movement after repeatedly eating First’s jabs.

The night’s other stoppage came as Tommy Broadbent of Leeds heavily put down Ismail Anwar, with the Huddersfield man stumbling to his feet and forcing Kearney’s intervention at 1-43 of the third. It was set for four. Bradford pair Jermaine Springer and Zeeshan Khan both took points victories, with Kearney handing Springer a 40-37 verdict over Derby’s Elvis Dube and Michael Alexander tallying 40-35 for Khan over Nicaraguan Jose Aguilar.

Huddersfield’s Jacob Quinn claimed a 40-36 decision over Stockport’s Jamie Quinn while Jacob Farmery (Leeds) debuted with a 39-37 victory against Steven Backhouse of Salford. Alexander refereed both bouts.

THE VERDICT Tetley could be ready to step up a level very soon.
