COMBINED CHAMPIONS

Jeison Rosario (page 23) is one of the 10 current unified world titlists in the sport. We rank them all here

-

1. CANELO ALVAREZ

Ignore the Franchise title nonsense, everyone knows that Canelo is the true WBC middleweight king regardless. The Mexican icon and pound-for-pound supremo also wears the WBA crown at 160lbs.

2. VASYL LOMACHENKO

Another P4P star who has bizarrely been labelled as a Franchise champion by the WBC, Lomachenko is also the lightweight leader for the WBA and WBO. The awesome Ukrainian is as talented as they come.

3. NAOYA INOUE

This Japanese “Monster” has been wreaking havoc in the lower weight classes. The bantamweight boss added the WBA belt to his IBF strap in an unforgettable clash with Nonito Donaire.

4. ERROL SPENCE JNR

Spence rules the roost at welterweight for both the WBC and IBF. The supremely skilled Texan earned his status as a unified champ by overcoming Shawn Porter in a thrilling fight.

5. ARTUR BETERBIEV

In a riveting battle between two beasts from the East, fearsome Russian Beterbiev got the better of Oleksandr Gvozdyk to become a dual WBC and IBF lightheavyweight titlist.

6. ANTHONY JOSHUA

Three-quarters of the heavyweight throne belong to Joshua, who leads the way for the WBA, IBF and WBO. The Herculean Englishman lost and won back his titles in the space of six months.

7. JOSH TAYLOR

Taylor triumphed in a pulsating unification bout with Regis Prograis to add the WBA championship to his IBF belt at super-lightweight. The superb Scot is on a collision course with the man directly below him on this list.

8. JOSE RAMIREZ

Ramirez is Taylor’s rival title-holder at superlightweight. The all-action Californian defeated Maurice Hooker in an exhilarating encounter to secure his standing as the WBC and WBO ruler.

9. JEISON ROSARIO

A previously unheralded super-welterweight, Rosario came out of nowhere to upset Julian Williams and grab WBA and IBF honours. The Dominican did it in some style too.

10. MURODJON AKHMADALIEV

Daniel Roman dropped the WBA and IBF superbantamweight straps to this precocious Uzbek, who rocketed his way to two titles after just eight pro contests.
