PRIORITY Promotions, in conjunction with Warren Boxing Management, kept the pot boiling with a six-fight Bonfire Night offering at York Hall.

The six-round main event at superlightweight saw Jamie “Ginger Rocket” Robinson, billed from Harlow and Bolsover, please his noisy fans with a 60-55 verdict from referee Lee Every over Russia’s Evgenii Vazem.

Robinson kept the punches coming and scored particularly well to the body against a wily opponent who often smiled or nodded “no” when tagged by a good shot.

The show’s other six saw Strood welter Louis Greene win 60-54 for referee Mark Bates against Octavian Gratii from Moldova in a contest that never caught fire.

Greene had advantages in height and reach but spent much of the time in close as chunky Gratii cut down his punching room. All the quality came from the Kent boxer, especially body shots.

The remaining bouts were over four rounds and one saw London-based Lithuanian Viktoras Razma provide the night’s only early ending when he stopped Liverpool’s Gary Stables in the second at heavyweight.

Taller Razma outworked his opponent in the first then in the second hurt him with a right hook. Stables backed off the tope ropes where “Vik” unloaded a volley of shots that brought the intervention of Mr Every at 1-17.

Basildon super-welterweight Inder Bassi spent much of the opening round slipping and sliding against Bartosz Glowacki but in the interval his corner put tape on the soles of his boots – and after that he outboxed the Pole to win 39-36 for Mr Bates, who docked him a point for a low blow in round three.

An all-liverpool middleweight bout saw southpaw James Heneghan

comfortably avoid the swings of Genadij Krajevskij en route to a 40-36 win for referee Every, while the same score (Mr Bates) handed London’s enterprising Ryan Lukeman a winning debut against Liverpudlian Michael Walton at

featherweight.

THE VERDICT Mixed bag at York Hall.
