IT was a return to Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza Hotel for Kynoch and the evening’s main event was fast-paced and well-matched. Cambuslang’s unbeaten super-bantamweight Gary Ducie grabbed his third win in the paid ranks, comfortably beating fellow Glaswegian, Scott Mccormack. The bout went the scheduled six rounds, landing 59-55 in Ducie’s corner as he was in control throughout, landing with some flashy, fast combinations.

The remainder of the show consisted of points victories for the home corner’s fighters, with the exception of Ireland’s newest female prospect, Cheyanne O’neill, who shared the spoils with Vaida Masiokaite on her debut, after their fight was scored 57-57 by referee, Kevin Mcintyre. O’neill looks a talent, but after a sharp start to the contest, she felt the pace down the stretch. Optimistic in the aftermath, she marches on undeterred.

Coatbridge’s Ben Mcgivern got back to winning ways and is again aiming for titles, beating the well-travelled Latvian Kristaps Zulgis over six rounds (scored 59-55). There was a tidy, second professional victory for Glasgow’s Ian O’connor as he beat CJ Wood

(scored 60-54); it nudges his win column up, after a loss and a draw from his previous two bouts. Dublin’s Cian Doyle made the trip to Glasgow with some noisy fans in tow and looked slick when beating Steven Maguire

(scored 40-36). Bromley’s Harry Mullins

travelled north, picking up a routine victory beating Tanzania’s Baraka Mchongi (scored 40-36). Last but not least, Edinburgh’s Robbie Graham made his professional debut, seeing off the experienced Gary Maguire (scored 40-36) and commencing his journey.
