Menace of cars is back

-

✒ WHEN the lockdown came in March the roads were really quiet and a pleasure to use, attracting lots of people to buy new cycles to be able to go out and enjoy the delights of cycling with a degree of safety.

Suddenly the menace of the car is back with seemingly a real intent to intimidate our new cyclists back off the roads. Far too many are arrogant, aggressive, impatient and pass much to close in inappropriate places.

Twice I have been overtaken by speeding cars on the wrong side of central reservations by Southmead Hospital entrance.

We simply must get on with separating cars from bikes as soon as possible, if there is no other way to teach these dangerous idiots that they must respect the safety of our vulnerable cyclists. Brian Griffiths Henleaze
