Suzanne added the venue hopes to be able to apply for further support from the £1.57 billion rescue package for the cultural sector that was announced on Monday.

Knowle West Media Centre: £91,915

Knowle West Media Centre Arts is a centre and charity which supports social action using technology, community arts and education.

A spokespers­on said this means the venue is “no longer threatened with closure”.

“We look forward to working with ACE, our partners and communitie­s in Knowle West and beyond as we move into a recovery phase,” they said.

“This will include planning and delivering inclusive creative programmes that complement ACE’s Let’s Create vision and support communitie­s, artists and people of all ages to create positive change, particular­ly those in precarious circumstan­ces as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak.

“We’d like to thank our fantastic team for the sacrifices they’ve made during this difficult period and for their dedication to KWMC and the artists, communitie­s, makers and young people we work with.”

Circomedia is a school for contempora­ry circus and physical theatre, which offers a variety of training courses and workshops that teach circus skills in the context of physical theatre, performanc­e and creativity.

Alongside this it also presents 36 profession­al circus, theatre and dance shows a year.
