BRISTOL CITY PLAYER RATINGS

-

DANIEL BENTLEY - 8

The goalkeeper did nothing wrong as the Robins won a valuable three points on the road to reignite their top-six challenge. Brilliant save in the first half after Boro had hit the bar, too.

JACK HUNT - 6

Horrendous miss in the first half when one-on-one with Stojanovic, and also had a glimpse of goal just before the hourmark as he dragged wide. Lovely cross for Diedhiou just before the half-time break, though.

TOMAS KALAS - 7

Thrived on the return to his former club and nobody made more blocks than the club record signing. Read play well and put his body on the line as was needed. FILIP BENKOVIC - 8

Outstanding in the air as he constantly won duels through Boro’s best spell in the first half. Good distribution from the back, too, and given his good form it must be asked why he hasn’t played more. NATHAN BAKER - 9

Carried on his recent good form after recovering from a migraine in midweEk to play a part here. Stationed towards the left of the defence and lapped up the aerial bombardment. Put in a goal-saving tackle late on to prevent Roberts scoring. JAY DASILVA - 7

Wasn’t able to get forward as much as against Hull City early on. A great complementary defender to the heavyweight back three. Able to raid forward in the final 10 minutes more. KOREY SMITH - 7

His 173rd appearance for City resulted in a steady performance in the middle. Combined well with fellow midfielders Weimann and Paterson and made the tackles when needed. Plenty of leadership on the pitch.

JAMIE PATERSON - 8

Ran down the left to pull back for Weimann for the opening goal, before dribbling down the same flank to score a wonder goal from a narrow angle. Carried on his great form from midweek.

ANDI WEIMANN - 9

No goals in 19 games for Weimann but a hat-trick of assists in this game. Highenergy display saw him win the ball across the pitch repeatedly.

NAHKI WELLS - 9

Fired in his 19th goal of the season to set City on their way in the first minutes of the game and should have had two just before the break as Diedhiou laid the ball off to him. His 20th was a poke from close range from a Weimann through-ball. FAMARA DIEDHIOU - 8

As Lee Johnson would say, ‘You have to win the boxes’. And with Diedhiou in the side you do that. So good in the air even if it was mostly repelling long throws from Shotton.
