Bristol Post

Picture past We salute the beauty of Autumn colour (in black and white)

-

AH, autumn! Season of mists and mellow whatchamacallits, when the leaves turn to lovely colours and fall from the trees, the evenings draw in and the morning and evening skies and cityscapes present a riot of natural and man-made shades and hues.

The coming winter is starting to look a bit gloomy, but we’ve can still enjoy autumn, and BT has been down to the virtual vaults to get out some photos of autumns past for a bit of a nostalgic wallow.

Unfortunately we can’t show you any of the lovely colours on Bristol’s trees, or the cast of lengthening shadows in pale sunlight from anytime before the early 1990s because the Post was printed in black & white back in former times, so you’ll just have to use your imagination.

The upside to this monochrome spread is that when you look out of the window or venture out for your state-mandated exercise, the real thing will look even nicer …
