Suburban Parson Street maintain perfect start to season

GOALS from Aaron Shelby, Lee Pitman and Issac Suleyman helped Parson Street OB to a 3-2 home win over Old Georgians and maintained their 100 per cent record in Premier One.

Leaders Easton Cowboys were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Filton Athletic. Kai Debbonaire was the the Cowboys’ marksman.

At the Stoke Gifford Stadium in a derby, Stoke Gifford United won 7-2 against Stoke Rangers. Lawrence Weston Athletic were also big winners, 6-1 at home to St Aldhelms. In a 5.30pm kick-off, AFC Mangotsfie­ld travelled to Oaklands Park to play North Bristol United and returned with all three points courtesy of a 4-1 win. John Stephens converted a penalty for United.

Joel Edwards completed a hattrick to help Old Cothamians gain their first win of the season, a convincing 5-1 success at home to Bristol Spartak. Josh Mitchell and Dan Chidgey were also on target for the home side.

Premier Two leaders Wessex Wanderers moved four points clear after a 5-4 victory over Stockwood Wanderers Reserves, thanks to goals from Luke Krumins (2), Dino Gassani, Tom Trimble and Nathan Redford.

Second-placed Redbridge maintained their 100 per cent record with a 3-1 win at previously unbeaten Ashton United, with goals from from J White, S Giles and J Oliver. Jack Thorley scored a penalty for Ashton. AFC Brislingto­n Reserves edged out MPK Lofts 3-2 to move into third place.

Matth Smyth (2), Harry Billiterri, Kane Adams, Tom Gunter and Craig Turner were on target for Parson Street OB Reserves in a 6-1 win at home to Old Georgians Reserves. James Denver scored for Georgians.
