Five-goal Douglas leads goal spree

CLEVEDON Family Church showed their title credential­s in Division One with a 7-0 victory against previously unbeaten Thornbury Baptist Church at Alveston.

Clevedon, who were topping the table before last season was curtailed, had five goals from Nathan Douglas and one apiece from Will Price and Oliver O’Hare.

VCF Santos gained a first win of the season with an impressive 2-1 success at Castle Green , thanks to two goals from Joshua Allen. Jack Jarrett scored for Green.

Edge Church won 4-2 in the Little Stoke derby against Cairns Road Corinthian­s , having been 1-0 up at the break. Alexander Begbie-Dilks, Joel Reed, Scott Cousins and Tate Shaw were the Edge marksmen, with Noah Blundell and Oolly Bell on target for Corinthian­s.

St James Revolution top Division Two after a 6-2 win against Castle Green Reserves made it three victories from three games. Michael Bojski (2), Peter Gordon (2) and CJ Kowolskie scored for Saints, who also benefited from an own goal. Castle Green replied through Luke Tucker and an own goal.

Rock Crusaders are also three from three after goals from Haydon Papworth and Justin Watts fired them to a 2-1 win at Woodlands Academy , who responded through Tom Cleave. Nailsea Churches won 4-2 at Clevedon Family Church Reserves.

Jordan Edwards (2) and Joseph Nock (2) scored for ECF Portishead in a 4-2 home win against Bedminster Church of Christ , whose goals came from Anthony Russe and Calus Moore. Spartak Woodlands had goals from Allan Macleod (2), Joshua Hoskins, Shay Rankin and Luke Wareham in a 5-1 win at Real St George Reserves , for whom Jordan Grant scored.
