AYATE man ripped up a woman’s clothes, sent images of her semi-naked from his phone and posted a video of her online with a gloating comment.

Dean Gill also punched her in the face and she threw herself from his moving van in fear for her safety, a court heard.

Bristol Crown Court was told she sustained a broken eye socket in her terrifying ordeal.

Gill, 31, of Argyle Drive, pleaded guilty to damaging property and disclosing private sexual photographs.

He also admitted theft and causing grievous bodily harm.

The court heard he had previous convictions for assaults on women.

Judge Michael Longman jailed him for three years.

He told Gill: “It was utterly contemptible behaviour.”

He handed Gill a five-year restraining order banning him from all contact with the woman.

Emma Martin, prosecuting, told Bristol Crown Court that he filmed her as she left a property in her underwear.

Later Gill contacted her, advising her to look at her WhatsApp, and it transpired he had posted footage of her in a state of undress onto Facebook.

Gill was arrested and bailed by police.

The court heard that Gill physically attacked the same woman.

Mrs Martin said: “The next thing she remembers is being punched very hard in the face while he was driving.

“He threw her mobile phone from the van and she was extremely frightened.

“He had previously warned her that if he started punching her he wouldn’t stop until she was dead.

“She was terrified. She decided to take her chances and jump.”

The court heard Gill stopped the van and his immediate reaction was to tell her: “What have I done?”

The woman suffered injuries which included a broken eye socket and abrasions to her body.

She gave the court an impact statement in which she expressed her huge anxiety, upset and embarrassment and posed the question: “Why and how could someone ever hurt another person like this?”

Nicholas Clough, defending, said: “He fully accepts that his behaviour was totally unacceptable.

“He has genuine remorse for what he has done.”
