GEEK TO ME
THE LATEST NEWS FROM THE COMIC WORLD
PUNCHLINE #1
DC’S newest character finally gets her own adventure this week, as Punchline #1 arrives.
This new series delivers an origin story for Alexis Kaye, explaining how she became supervillain Punchline – and stole the Joker’s heart.
Fans have been a bit resistant to Punchline, the main criticism being the Joker’s utter infatuation with her – feelings a man, who’s only interest in people is how he can use them, should seemingly be incapable of.
Whatever, this promises to be an interesting take on a fringe teenager’s radicalisation to the ideology of a madman.
Punchline #1 is out now priced £4.50.
THE RECOUNT #1
SOME beautifully timed publishing from Scout Comics, with its latest title The Recount.
It tells the tale of the US plunged into a civil war following the assassination of a dishonest President.
But the conspirators don’t stop there, turning their sights on all who helped him get into power – including the ordinary citizens who elected him.
Written by Jonathan Hedrick, with artwork by Gabriel Ibarra Nunez, The Recount #1 is out now priced £3.60.
POWER RANGERS #1
THE first print run of this Power
Rangers relaunch series sold out in a flash – and it’s not surprising.
This issue kicks off a brand new era for the original
Power Rangers, with Jason, Trini and Zack now known as the Omega Rangers.
There’s a new cosmic threat on the horizon, and the team’s best hope of defeating it is the Rangers’ sworn enemy, Lord Drakkon.
Written by the much-loved Ryan Parrott, with art by fan favourite Francesco Mortarino, Power Rangers #1 is out now priced £4.50.
