Steve’s right, you know

-

I NEVER thought that I would ever have agreed with MP Steve Baker but this time he is absolutely right regarding the Government bring in more stringent tiers after the second lockdown.

This is purely more lockdowns, using a different name, until the spring. Mr Baker and his group are right to ask for a benefits analysis of this and the adverse effects on people’s livelihoods, mental health and their futures.

Apparently the Chancellor, who has not supported everyone disagrees. This is little wonder as he neither accepts what many MPs including Mr Baker are requesting that their recent pay award, agreed by an independent body, should not take this pay award in light of the current situation in the country.

The Prime Minister and his Cabinet and advisors and many others who agree with this action all have

one thing in common. They are all paid their high salaries each month irrespective what happens to millions of other people who have had little or no support from this Government.

With the introduction of Council Marshalls and the police together with retailers ensuring wearing of masks, unless people have health issues, social distancing and other measures to prevent mass gatherings this is surely the way to go. Common sense must prevail.

However with new found power and celebrity status by a number of advisors, it may be very difficult to return to any semblance of normal living. This is not doom and gloom but a reality. Steve Baker is right in what he says.
