ABODYBUILDER who crashed his girlfriend’s Audi A4 convertible after speeding down Gloucester Road at 100mph has been jailed.

Police wanted to have a word with Kyle White after they saw him urinating by the vehicle in the early hours of April 4.

Bristol Crown Court he sped off down Gloucester Road, took a T-junction at speed, ploughed through a fence onto a playing field and fled after stopping near a car park.

Police caught him and he was found to be nearly twice the alcohol limit for driving.

White, 30, of Ashley Down, admitted driving with excess alcohol and aggravated vehicle taking without insurance.

Judge Mark Horton jailed him for 14 months.

He told White: “A motor vehicle remains the most dangerous potential weapon placed in the hands of the general public.

“There is the potential to cause serious damage to property, and far more importantly, members of the public and police.”

The judge banned White from driving, with immediate effect, for three years and seven months.

The court heard the car, which White bought for his girlfriend, was a writeoff and £1,500 damage was caused to the fence.

He was tested to have 62 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.

White made full admissions in interview, accepting he was the driver and had driven off in panic.

Emily Haggadon, defending, said her client worked as a floor layer and, since the incident, had qualified as a physical trainer and decided to be a competitive bodybuilder - keeping his alcohol intake low.

Miss Heggadon said: “He assures me since the incident he has barely touched a drop. He is training hard for a competition in March, representing Bristol in a national competition.”

She added that her client had been diagnosed with ADHD and occasionally “his brain has no brakes”.
