Bryan Adams summer city concert is cancelled

-

BRYAN Adams has cancelled his Bristol gig due to “scheduling issues’”

The Canadian icon was announced to perform in the city by London-based promotion company Senbla back in December, along with Lionel Richie.

The firm said the rock star would perform on June 26 but did not announce a venue, instead saying the two concerts would take place at a “central location” with more details to be shared.

However in March, just three months before the shows were due to take place, Bristol City Council told the Post it had not received a licence application.

The council said it had held discussions with promoters about the possibility of staging the gigs at central locations, including Queen Square, but the talks did not progress any further.

Despite the uncertainty, Senbla told the Post the concerts were scheduled to go ahead as planned.

But just weeks later Lionel Richie’s concert was rescheduled to June 2022 and the plug has now been pulled on Bryan Adams’ gig.

While revised dates have been found for seven tour dates in venues such as Cornwall, Scarborough, Leeds and Cardiff, plans for Bristol, Exeter and Canterbury have been scrapped altogether.

A post on Bryan Adams’ Facebook page reads: “The Bryan Adams UK Summer Tour has been re-scheduled for 2022.

“All original tickets are valid for the new dates.

“Unfortunately the following shows are cancelled due to scheduling issues. Tickets will be refunded automatically.
