ABRISTOL business has been named the best small company to work for in the UK.

Technology consultancy Redrock, on Pembroke Road in Clifton, ranked top of employee engagement specialist Best Companies’ 2021 survey for firms that employ between 25 and 74 people.

The company also took the top spot in the top 30 consultancies to work for in Britain, while it was third in the list of the South West’s 50 best businesses.

The Best Companies survey uses an anonymous poll to capture the views of staff at more than a thousand companies across the country, ranking firms on various factors such as leadership, wellbeing and pay.

It is the third year running Redrock has been named on the list of the UK’s top small firms to work for.

The company, which includes the Land Registry and the Care Quality Commission among its clients, was established in 2005 and now has a turnover of more than £30million.

The firm offers its staff a range of perks, which include finishing early on Friday for beer and pizza, and whole-company trips. In 2020, the business took employees to New York.

According to Redrock, all staff are consulted on what it means to be employed at the firm in a bid to maintain a culture of “respect, openness and honesty”.

Co-founder and managing director Dean Harte said being ranked as Britain’s best UK consultancy to work for was a “real David and Goliath achievement” and “probably as big” as the firm’s overall win.

❝ To be recognised in this way is just fantastic and particularly after the last year when the working dynamic of the business experienced such a seismic change

“To be recognised in this way is just fantastic and particularly after the last year when the working dynamic of the business experienced such a seismic change,” he said.

“The fact that input of our people is so influential in where we place makes it all the more pleasing and I’m in no doubt that it’s this positive sentiment that has enabled Redrock to grow from strength to strength as we move through the year.”

In the South West, lingerie and swimwear retailer Bravissimo, which has stores in Bath and in Cheltenham, topped the list of 50 best firms to work for.

Around 90 per cent of Bravissimo staff said they felt proud to work for the organisation.
