Cyber criminals won’t find any Friends here...

-

YOU might have noticed David Schwimmer has been back on the box again recently, getting back together with his five famous Friends for THAT reunion show.

Watching him recreate Ross and Rachel’s best moments and reliving all those clips was a great reminder of just how good a comedy actor this man really is.

Now, we have to be honest, this cybercrime sitcom is not in the same league as the iconic and legendary Friends, but David still gets plenty of chances to show off his many talents.

He plays National Security Agency agent Jerry Bernstein, who was brought over from the US to join the UK’s GCHQ; think a nerdy, geekier version of MI5, with laptops and lanyards rather than guns and gadgets.

These guys are more Paddington Bond than James Bond, and none more so than the naive and inept computer analyst Joseph Harries (played by Nick Mohammed, who also wrote and created the show).

While Jerry might be the office alpha male, the selfappointed maverick leader, in reality he’s barely any less clueless or useless than the rest of them. Which isn’t exactly handy when you’re dealing with issues that could literally lead to the end of the world – like the threat of nuclear meltdown, which they’re trying to prevent in the first episode.

While boss Christine (Sylvestra Le Touzel) points out they could be looking at another Chernobyl, Joseph sheepishly admits he couldn’t get through the first series.

It turns out it’s behind the attack, cyberweapon Jerry helped develop.

And so it’s down to him to try and disable it and save the day – IF he can remember his password…
