ASHTON GATE TO HOST ELTON JOHN ON FINAL TOUR
SIR Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour will head to Bristol next summer. The musician’s final tour will include five stadium shows across the UK, as well as dates in Europe and North America.
He will make stops in cities such as Milan and Paris before shows in Norwich, Liverpool, Sunderland, Bristol and Swansea next June.
He will play Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol on June 22.
The singer, famous for global smash-hits such as Crocodile Rock, Your Song, Tiny Dancer, I’m still Standing and Rocket Man, will kick off the dates in Frankfurt on May 27 2022 and conclude with back-toback performances at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on November 19 and 20 2022, commemorating his famous performance at the venue in October 1975.
In January 2023 he will travel to New Zealand for two shows, followed by dates in Australia, where the four-year tour will formally come to an end.
Sir Elton, 74, said: “The shows that I announce today will be my final tour dates ever in North America and Europe.
“I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career.
“Whether it’s next summer in Frankfurt or at the legendary Dodger Stadium for the grand finale in the United States, I can’t wait to see you all on the road one last time.
“This has been an incredible tour so far, full of the most amazing highs, and I look forward to making more wonderful memories with you at these final shows.
“To all my friends down under, we’ll be seeing you too. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in your town.”
The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour began in September 2018 and is set to be the singer’s final stint on the road. He said he wants to spend more time with husband David Furnish and their two sons, Zachary and Elijah. He was forced to postpone a string of dates last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Public ticket sales begin on Wednesday, June 30 at 10am for UK dates. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster, AXS, Alt Tickets and Gigantic. People are asked not to contact Ashton Gate Stadium regarding general tickets.
Hospitality packages will be available online only via the Ashton Gate ticketing website from 10am today.
