White appointed new manager at Almondsbury
ALMONDSBURY have appointed Joe White as first-team manager after Neil Bailey recently stepped down from the post.
Mike Blessing, chairman of the Toolstation League First Division club, said: “Almondsbury FC are delighted in welcoming Joe as manager along with his support team. We would like to wish Joe well in what we hope will be an exciting season ahead under their tenure.
“Also, we thank Neil Bailey for the excellent job he did. However, work commitments have to come first and we wish him well in his promotion at GKN.
“Neil being a Almondsbury player of over 500 games will be around the club moving forward to offer his knowledge and when available look to support as a player.
“I’m also delighted the vastly experienced number two, Jeff Meacham, will also be involved at the club to offer advice in the promotion of our younger talent within the reserves into first team
“I would like to thank all of the applicants for the position, and was quietly taken aback by the numbers and the quality of the individuals that took time to express an interest in the club and wish them all good luck for the future.”
White was manager at Longwell Green Sports last season, having previously been in charge of Chipping Sodbury Town.
His support team at Almondsbury will include his dad Steve, the former Bristol Rovers and Swindon striker, who is holder of an UEFA A coaching licence, and Alex Cumming, who has great experience as a player and coach at Toolstation League level.
