- Steve HILL postsport@b-nm.co.uk

ROB Bailey thumped a typically belligerent unbeaten 130 for Stanton Drew, who chased down a target of 200 for the loss of only one wicket against St George Valley in Division Seven of the Martin Berrill Bristol & District League.

Two wickets apiece from Joe Smart, Steve Croucher and Gary Smart helped restrict St George to 199-9 after winning the toss.

Skipper Bailey then took charge of the chase, crashing 14 fours and seven sixes, as the points were banked with 13 overs to spare.

Senior Division leaders Bedminster 2nds cruised past Timsbury by six wickets, Harry Drissell claiming 5-29 from his nine overs, while Frenchay remain second despite a one-wicket home reverse against

Keynsham 2nds.

Simon Knowles was the pick of the Keynsham attack with figures of 4-32 before Colin Arblaster (32 not out) played the key innings in a tight finish.

Bradley Stoke are up to third after trumping Clevedon 2nds by 68 runs. Owen Onslow (67) and Dan Peachey (49) saw the South Gloucestershire side to 218-7, with Jake Brand claiming 5-45. Marcus Thatcher (3-31), Onslow (3-56), Dan Laver (2-10) and Ash Baber (2-19) then combined to good effect as Clevedon were rumbled for 150.

Roger Hooper (4-19) and son Dom (3-14) were the bowling stars for Claverham in an 88-run home success over bottom side Shirehampton, while Syed Shah’s unbeaten 77 took Pak Bristolians to a five-wicket victory at home to Coalpit Heath.

Unbeaten Division One pacesetters Winterbourne 2nds had to work hard for a low-scoring twowicket home victory over their

Downend counterparts, with Jamie Studley bagging 3-12.

It was even tighter at Lodway where Hanham squeezed in by one wicket off the last ball. Ross Robbins top-scored on 78 for the visitors.

Connor Hance’s return of 4-19 ensured a 75-run triumph for Cleeve in Division Two at Bohemians, while Charlie Dangerfield also claimed 4-19 for Portishead in a five-wicket win at Bitton.

There were plenty of personal landmarks in Bristol 3rds’ 186-run home defeat of Bristol Lions in Division Five. Openers Adam Lee (109) and Mike Love (102 not out) boosted their side to 261-1 off 40 ahead of Lee following up with a haul of 5-15 from five overs and Jack Power capturing 5-14 off 3.4.

One of the innings of the day came from Frazer Reeves, who hit 145 off 103 (18 fours, eight sixes) for Brislington 3rds, who saw off

Claverham 2nds by 39 runs. Ryan Watts (108) and Adam Young (92) saw Pucklechurch to a tremendous 325-7 at home to Almondsbury 2nds in Division Six before Mitch Springer (5-11 off eight) wrapped up a 236-run win.

In Division 12, Harry Gunning and Jason Cryans shared an opening stand of 253 for Bedminster 5ths against Brislington 4ths.

Gunning’s 140 off 108 featured 10 fours and two sixes, while Cryans 117 came from just 79 deliveries and featured 18 fours and one maximum. Bedminster piled up 288-2 ahead of Bris coming in 42 runs short, with opener Robbie Dowding top-scoring on 80.
