Two of city’s top nightclubs to charge £10 for lateral flow test at door

-

TWO of Bristol most iconic clubs are enforcing strict Covid protocols for entry into their venues when restrictions lift today.

Lakota is operating a coronavirus passport system or proof of a negative lateral flow test within the last 24 hours. Whereas Motion is requiring every single attendee to show proof of a negative lateral flow test from within the last 48 hours before arrival to the venue for entry.

Failing to provide proof of either of the following will result in entry being denied to the venue, even if you’ve purchased a ticket for the respective events. If you have not completed a lateral flow test before arrival at Motion you can purchase one on-site for the cost of £10 per person.

A statement issued on Facebook posted by Lakota stated: “Although the government have indicated that covid passes are not a requirement, the health authorities and council have very strongly advised us to run such a policy.

“As such, we believe that it is the responsible course of action for us to take as our customers’ health is of paramount importance.”

Lakota will be hosting one of the first UK’s first festivals after coronavirus restrictions ease from today with a Summer of Love festival hosted at a secret location in North Bristol and the same entry restrictions will apply.

Motion released a similar statement ahead of their re-opening on Freedom Day and said: “In line with Public Health’s Guidance, we require all attending customers to provide a lateral flow test before coming to the venue and enter their results into the NHS Covid-19 app.

“We will be checking your result on the door. Should you provide a positive test result, then you will not be permitted to enter the premises.

“You will be asked to show your negative results regardless if you have had a vaccination or a valid vaccine passport.

“If a negative test can not be shown on entry, a limited amount of lateral flow test will be available on site but will be subject to a fee of £10.”
