GARY Winsor and Jimmy Dickinson completed maiden league centuries on a day to remember as Frampton Cotterell overcame Failand & Portbury by 121 runs in Division Three of the Martin Berrill Bristol & District League.

Opener Winsor ended the innings unbeaten on 133 off 104 balls (12 fours, four sixes), while Dickinson reached 110 not out (78 deliveries, ten fours, six sixes) as the experienced campaigners shared an unbroken third-wicket stand of 237 after winning the toss.

Frampton ended their 40 overs on an imposing 300-2 before Failand were restricted to a reply of 179, with George Carson top-scoring on 39 as Brendan Foreman (4-36 from eight overs), Hari Kammula (2-32) and Ryan Cater (2-32) struck to ensure their side’s sixth win of the campaign.

Another batsman to enjoy the conditions was Malik Haroon, who finished unbeaten on 162 for Bristol

in a 75-run victory away to in Division One.

The opener faced 115 balls and

Pakistanis Brislington 2nds

struck 20 fours and two maximums to help his side total 291-5 ahead of wrapping up a 75-run victory.

Winterbourne 2nds remain top despite suffering a first defeat of the season, going down by five wickets away to closest rivals Knowle 2nds.

Neil Brown’s burst of 5-17 from six overs helped Knowle restrict their visitors to 192-8 before a stand of 137 between Ian Mills (85) and Joe Milkins (46) saw the home side to the spoils.

Owen Onslow, who has been such a key performer this season with bat and ball for Bradley Stoke, was at it again in a 109-run home Senior Division triumph over Timsbury.

The all-rounder top-scored on 72 in a total of 276-8, with captain Ash Baber adding a quickfire 52, and followed up with 2-25 in a comfortable win which also owed much to Dan Qureshi’s spell of 5-40.

Bradley Stoke remain third in the chase for the two promotion slots to WEPL, but are now only four points behind Frenchay, who suffered a four-wicket setback at Pak Bristolians.

Joe Moss hit 43 in a below-par total of 203-5 before Babar Parvaiz

(44) and Abdur-Rehman Tabraiz (37) led the reply.

Leaders Bedminster 2nds, meanwhile, eased in by five wickets away to their Keynsham counterparts, with an unbroken stand of 82 between Lewis Mason (45) and Rob Cunliffe (33) wrapping up the points.

Bottom side Shirehampton are only five points behind Coalpit Heath after holding their nerve for a five-run win away to their rivals.

Aiden Kee’s unbeaten 61 dominated

Shire’s 169 all out. Kyle Rose was the pick of the attack 3-29 from nine overs. Rose’s unbeaten 40 then proved to be in vain as Shire closed out their second successive win. Lewis Palmer took 4-40, while there was also a crucial spell from captain John Stilwell, whose nine overs went for only 23.

One of the bowling performances of the day came in Division Seven, where Ani Sanat bagged 6-14 from eight overs to help dismiss St George Valley for 59 away

to Thornbury 3rds, who won by 187 runs.

Arguably the finish of the summer to date came in Division Five where Bristol 3rds rallied from 73-9 to chase down a target of 166 and complete a memorable onewicket win against Barrow Gurney. The heroes were Harry Tiernan and Jude Hazelgrove who, at numbers ten and 11 respectively, finished unbeaten on 65 and 37 to complete victory with an over to spare.
