District Acton hit Fishponds for six to maintain unbeaten start

THERE was no denying Iron Acton A their Saturday success as they rattled up six without reply away against Fishponds Athletic.

As the goals rained hard and fast right across the Bristol and District League Division Three board, Jordan Miles and Kai Dervishi were both at the double, and Charlie Parsons and Liam Cook also contribute­d, as second-placed Acton maintained their unbeaten start.

At Sir Bernard Lovell Academy, Oldland Abbotonian­s Colts saw off Crosscourt United 6-3, with goals from Isaac Guyatt, Aldo Marku and Alexander Roberston offering some cheer to the visitors.

Alex Rennolds fired all four goals for his side as AFC Grace edged a 4-3 victory at Lawrence Rovers Reserves, who had goals from Kai Holmes (2) and Daniel Harris.

Elliott Pearce struck twice and Levi Morris once as Hanham Abbotonian­s overcame Joe O’Connor’s improving De Veys Reserves, who are getting to grips with a transition­al season having had five of their former players elevated to the first-team squad, 3-1 at Kings Head Lane.

Ethan Platts and Fraser Joyner strikes kept pacesettin­g Longwell Green Sports B in the Third Division ascendancy via a 2-0 win at spirited Seymour United A.

Joe Alston and Chris Astley scored for AFC Mangotsfie­ld District Reserves in a 2-1 win against Thornbury Town A, whose Matt Chapman scored.

AEK Boco A are storming away at the Senior Division summit. They completed a fourth win from four with goals by Karim Rendall, Paul Coles, Jamie Jenkins, Brad Abraham, Lee Bebbington and George Johnson, as AFC Mangotsfie­ld District took a 6-2 tumble.

Billy Phillips (2) and Jack Thompson grabbed the goals to see second-placed Highridge United to a 3-1 home victory over winless Seymour United Reserves, who responded with a Luke Wilshire consolatio­n.

Aidan Noble scored four times to help propel his Longwell Green Sports A team to a 6-2 home success over Patchway Town Reserves, where Mike Stephens struck twice.

In Division One, Tom Savery and John Morgan were the respective marksmen as Iron Acton Reserves and near neighbours Old Sodbury fought out a 1-1 stalemate at Sunnyside Fields.

The outcome was identical at Mundy Fields, where Thornbury Town Reserves had Matt Constable on target, and guests Bristol Barcelona had Marcin Taras responding.

Oscar Powell scored for Lion, and Jed Sheppard for Sea Mills Park, in yet another 1-1 draw, this time at the BAWA.

Lawrence Weston Saturday and MPK Lofts both secured victories, and by the same 3-1 margin too. Lee Riches, James Armstrong and Treydon Merrett shared the scoring as Lawrence dismissed Bradley Stoke Town Reserves, whose Ashley Rogers-Milburn notched. Unbeaten Lofts had Luke Goodwin (2) and Simon Bone registerin­g in their defeat of travelling Tormarton, whose Jake Schollick struck.

Brady Gould’s goal for Highridge United A, still seeking a maiden Division Two victory, couldn’t prevent Bradley Stoke Town A coming away with the three points from a 2-1 win, courtesy of Liam Platts and Mitchell Budd strikes.

Nicholas Wanderers A were grateful to Devon Walsh and Mark Davidson for their two goals, although they had to settle for a point from a 2-2 Dundridge Park draw with Mendip Broadwalk A.

Mitch Sheppard scored for Winterbour­ne United Reserves in a 3-1 defeat at Rec HQ by unbeaten Pucklechur­ch Sports Reserves.

James Clark’s effort for Greyfriars Athletic Reserves was a mere consolatio­n, as his away outfit were downed 5-1 by Stoke Lane Athletic.

In Division Four, Kieran Jackson hit a hat-trick as Bradley Stoke Town B marched to a 6-1 home romp over St Nicholas Reserves.

Luke Simmons was in unstoppabl­e form, for Hanham Athletic Vets, as his four goals delivered a 4-2 home victory over Patchway Town A.
