Suburban Sam strikes twice as Redbridge knock out Rockleaze

THE Bristol Suburban League fixtures were put on hold so the first round of the three League Cups could be played.

In the Alf Bosley Cup, four teams from the Senior Division overcame Premier Division opposition, with the two top teams in the Premier Division falling to unexpected defeats.

Rockleaze Rangers Reserves lost 4-3 at Hillside Gardens against Senior Division leaders Redbridge. Sam Preston celebrated his return to the club with a double, Jack Elston continued his goalscorin­g run with another goal and Paul Worlock converted a good Mike York cross.

Broad Plain House travelled down the Portway to play unbeaten leaders Avonmouth and won 4-3. Joe Banks bagged a brace, with Ben Sell and Max Bateman also on target. Charlie Aldom (2) and Kyle O’Donovan were the Avonmouth marksmen.

Scott Feltham completed a hat trick for Tytheringt­on Rocks Reserves, who fought back from a 3-1 half-time deficit to beat Premier Division side Parson Street OB 4-3. Mike Johnson scored their other goal.

Three goals in the last ten minutes from Dylan Halt, Matt Parker and Joe Weare turned the game for Stoke Rangers, who beat Cosmos 3-1.

Game of the day was at Stoke Gifford where visitors Old Cothamians edged out the home side 2-1.

Oscar van de peer and Charlie Tilbrook struck the goals for Easton Cowboys in a 2-0 win against visitors Wessex Wanderers.

Lewis Pratten scored a hat-trick for Jamaica Bell in a 5-1 win at Park Knowle. Simon Palmer and

Marcus Smith also scored for the victors. David Hughes struck twice to help Bristol Spartak win the derby at Stockwood Wanderers Reserves 5-2. James Jamlin, Harry Jones and Frank Feltham were the other Spartak marksmen.

Lawrence Weston Athletic had a 4-1 win at Little Stoke Reserves.

In the Norman Goulding Cup, Ricky Clark scored the goal as AFC Whitchurch won 1-0 at AFC Mangotsfie­ld Reserves.

Armando Marusso (2), Cesar Brito, Hassan Siraj-Allan, Ramon Barranco and Valentine Marin scored for Bristol Phoenix in a 7-1 win against Brentry Athletic.

Redbridge Reserves made it a good day for the club with a 5-1 win at Broad Plain House Reserves.

Goals from Curtis Bragg (2), Mitchell Williams, Harri Wood and Ollie Harper earned a 5-3 win for Bromley Heath United A over Suburban Phoenix.

Parson Street OB Reserves beat Socius United 4-2 at Ashton Vale, thanks to strikes from Luke Webster (2), Kane Adams, with a penalty, and Chris Swalby. Ollie Louch scored both United goals.

Callum Canning scored for St Valliers in a 5-1 defeat at home to Filton Athletic Reserves.

Hartcliffe FC beat Lockleaze Community 9-1, while Rockleaze Rangers A won 9-0 at Lawrence Weston Athletic A.

Ben Morris scored a hat-trick for Fishponds OB who beat Cadbury Heath Reserves 7-1.

In the Len Bartlett Cup, Jack Higgs struck six times to help Bristol Phoenix Reserves to a 12-1 victory against Cosmos Reserves, while Rhys Davies added a hattrick.

Jordan Williams also scored six times as newcomers Corinthian­s Athletic beat Hartcliffe Reserves 9-3.
