TRACK IT WITH TILE

Tile has a new range of updated trackers to help you find your lost items. The whole line-up has been redesigned and there are now four trackers for different uses – all with updated range and water-resistance.

Top of the line is the Pro at £29.99, which features a 400ft range and a new key-ring friendly design. The Mate (£19.99), Slim (£29.99), and Sticker (£24.99), also have extended ranges up to 250ft.

All trackers now come with a QR code on them to help anyone who finds your lost item re-unite you with them, and new features are coming to the Tile app to help people avoid unwanted tracking.

Next year Tile is bringing the Ultra to market, which will allow for precise location tracking via a compatible smartphone. It’s working with Google to make this widely available on Android phones.

‘SOFT BLOCK’ ON TWITTER

Twitter has introduced a new safety feature called a ‘soft block’ and it’s available now to all users via its web app.

It allows you to remove a follower without notifying them. It’s less restrictive than a block, as the person could theoretically see your Tweets, but they won’t show up on their time-line.

They can follow you again if they wish, but it’s another tool at your disposal if you need to create space between you and another user.

You can access it from your list of followers by clicking the three dots next to anyone’s name and selecting the “remove follower” option.

APPLE BEARS YET MORE FRUIT

Apple is to hold another online special event next week.

The company has only just got its latest iPhone updates out of the door, so next week’s news is expected to be Mac related – rumours suggest new 14in and 16in MacBooks with faster Appledesigned chips are in the works, as well as a high-end Mac Mini.

If that doesn’t catch your eye, the other suggestion is that some redesigned AirPods may also make the cut – just in time for Christmas...

The event will be broadcast on Apple’s website starting at 6pm on Monday.
