Designer brand to move in at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway

-

FASHION brand Tommy Hilfiger is set to become the latest business to open a store at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway.

The Bristol shopping centre has announced that the company will move later this year into a 2,650 sq ft double-fronted unit near the John Lewis outlet.

Tommy Hilfiger will join other international clothing and fragrance retailers such as Hugo Boss, Superdry, Moss Bros and Crew at The Mall, which is jointly owned by Intu, M&G Real Estate and JT Baylis.

The store is the firm’s first in the Bristol area, though it also has South West outlets in Bath, Gloucester, Plymouth Street in Somerset, and Swindon.

A spokesperson for the shopping centre said Tommy Hilfiger was unable to share the number of jobs the new store would create.

The shop’s design will feature stacked cardboard ‘moving boxes,’ logo taping and neon signs against a white backdrop with red, white and blue colourblock accents, reflecting the company’s brand colours.

Once fit out is complete, it will stock the company’s autumn product line, with shoppers able to collect and return products ordered online, as well as buy instore. An exact opening date has

not yet been confirmed.

Tommy Hilfiger’s arrival is the latest in a series of retailers to announce a letting at The Mall, following bike manufacturer Ribble Cycles, Gloucestershirebased kitchen and dining ware brand ProCook, beauty clinic firm Therapie and media giant Sky.

Luxury department store Harrods will also be opening a branch of its H beauty brand showrooms at The Mall.

The Mall’s owners recently said it had seen strong sales and footfall since the reopening of retail following the easing of national lockdown restrictions, with shoppers returning in their “millions”.

Simon Green, portfolio director at M&G Real Estate, said the addition of Tommy Hilfiger strengthened the retail hub’s position as “the premier shopping destination in the South West”.

Mr Green said: “As we continue to move out of the pandemic, we are delighted to see shoppers returning to The Mall.

“We look forward to sharing more exciting news about other new occupiers in the months to come as we continue to widen our base of occupiers, bringing in a diverse set of retailers alongside leisure and lifestyle operators, supported by a wide-ranging food and beverage offer.”
