The business will be one that has shown measurable and steady growth, that has invested in its staff and its operations to make it as strong as possible, and that has long-term plans for growth and improvement.

» The Large Business of the Year award is for companies with more than 150 employees that have a positive impact on the region’s economy.
The judges will look at the success of the business in meeting targets, improving its products and services, and planning for greater growth.
Black Business Person of the Year, sponsored by Bristol Waste Company
» This award seeks to celebrate the work and achievements of entrepreneurs and business leaders in Bristol’s Black community.
The Black Business Person of The Year award will go to an individual that has demonstrated a real spirit for entrepreneurship and innovation, and who can show determination and concerted planning to achieve further success for their business.

» This award celebrates new ideas, processes, products, services, technologies and applications that have had an impact on an organisation’s success over the past 12 months.
We’re looking for a company that has really pushed the envelope, and devised innovative ways to improve its operations.

» A positive work environment is vital in making sure that employees feel at ease and capable of achieving their very best. The award will go to the company that believes their environment embodies this ethos, whether this is through their workplace set up or a home working system.

» This award will go to the company which has shown outstanding commitment to managing the environmental impact of its business or to an environmental business that is benefitting the wider community.
This can include such actions as; reducing emissions, waste or noise; improving raw material use or transport efficiency; cleaning up land; and reducing the impact of the business activities on neighbours.
Business Person of the Year, sponsored by Kingston Barnes
» The winner of this award will be selected by our judging panel and is somebody who has demonstrated a high degree of entrepreneurship, creativity and vision for the future.
The judges will be looking to identify an individual who has set up a business or has had a significant influence in the business, that has set and achieved objectives within its business plans and established a position of sustainable profitability and success.
