Coles strikes twice as Hanham claim first point of the season

HANHAM Athletic gained their first point of the season with a 2-2 draw at home to English Bicknor.

A fine strike from Paul Coles gave Hanham a 22nd-minute lead, but English Bicknor equalised on 49 minutes via a cross-shot from James Davies.

Hanham retook the lead on 52 minutes when Coles scored with a low shot, but a scrambled late goal from Darryl Addis denied the home side victory

The game remained at 0-0 late into the second half when Shirehampt­on brought on Scott Bamford, and in the 81st minute he gave them the lead with a 10-yard shot. He sealed the points for the leaders in the 86th minute with a wonderful shot which flew into the top corner of the net.

Gala Wilton moved up into second place after a 3-0 success at home to

Patchway Town.

Dan Gaynor scored early on for Gala, and second-half goals from Ben Sluman and Wakib Said sealed the win.

Wick boosted their title challenge with a 1-0 win at Broadwell Amateurs.

Wick’s first real effort came from Mike Hardiman but he failed to keep his shot down and that to went over the top.

The only goal of the game came on 39 minutes when Ben Harris collected the ball on the edge of the box and skipped past a couple of defenders before hitting a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Wick almost got a second on 80 minutes but Hardiman’s shot struck the post.

Bromley Heath United came from a goal down to beat Little Stoke 2-1 and gain their second win of the season.

Little Stoke took the lead on five minutes via Alex Hill’s diving header.

The home side drew level on 12 minutes when Alvin Nurse and Cameron Ford combined to set up Kaylen Edwards to score.

Two minutes before the break, Bromley grabbed the lead from a corner sent over by Edwards and nodded in by Ollie Amos.

Henbury went down to a 2-1 defeat at Sharpness.

After a scuffle in the 13th minute, the home side’s James Priday and Henbury’s Jenson Mannings were both sent off. On 48 minutes, Henbury’s Matt Jones set up Brandon Dack to slot a shot into the corner of the net. However, Callum Dummelow stabbed home a 62nd-minute equaliser, and Tom Frankham grabbed the winner nine minutes later.
