Toolstatio­n/Hellenic Clevedon eyeing top-six finish

CLEVEDON Town remain in contention for a top-six finish in the Toolstatio­n Premier Division after a 4-1 victory at Bitton, which stretched their unbeaten league run to 10 games.

Alex Camm slotted home an early penalty for Clevedon, following a trip on Ethan Feltham, but David Duru struck a 41st-minute equaliser for the hosts.

However, Freddie King restored Clevedon’s advantage just before the break, and late goals from Archie Ferris and Feltham secured the three points for a Clevedon side now up to ninth in the table.

Cadbury Heath continued their fine form of late with a 0-0 draw at fifth-placed Bridgwater United.

Tytheringt­on Rocks needed a late equaliser from Laurence Lefevre - his second goal of the game to resuce a point from a 2-2 home draw against bottom side Devizes Town.

In the Hellenic League Premier Division, third-placed Cribbs ended their league campaign with a 1-0 home win against Brimscombe & Thrupp, with Steve Murray the goalscorer.

Barring a reorganisa­tion of the league, Hallen are set to play in Division One next season. A midweek draw at Lydney Town meant Hallen could not escape prior to ending their league matches with a 3-0 home win against second bottom Calne Town on Saturday. Trey Anderson gave Hallen a 44th-minute lead, Troy Simpson added a second in the 74th minute, then 16-year-old Tyrees Coleman scored the third in the closing stages.

Roman Glass St George battled out a goalless draw with Bradford Town on the Oaklands Park 3G, while Thornbury Town were sunk 3-0 at Westbury United, for whom Harvey Flippance (2) and Steve Hulbert scored the goals.
