Tesco is teaming up with FareShare – the UK’s national network of charitable food redistribu­tors – to put meals on the table for families across the UK.

With its Buy One to Help A Child campaign, Tesco is pledging to make a donation towards feeding children and their families with every customer purchase of fresh fruit and vegetables.

By buying fresh produce instore or via tesco.com, you can help relieve food poverty in your local community so that no young person is left hungry.

Tesco’s motto is “every little helps”,and this goes far beyond keeping costs down with your weekly shop. Tesco is committed to helping community groups across Britain, aswell as supporting sustainabi­lity – and you canhelp too.

From March 21 to April 3, every time you purchase fresh fruit and vegetables from Tesco, the supermarke­t will make a donation to FareShare, which supports thousandso­f frontline charities and community groups, from school holiday and breakfast clubs, to community kitchens and groups supplying vital food parcels to people in their community.

Families who rely on free school meals can struggle, especially during school holidays. And with more and more families worried about the cost of living, the Buy One to Help A Child campaign will help those who find themselves in thegreates­t difficulty.

Buying a bunch of bananas, stocking up on strawberri­es or picking up potatoes will m ean you’re h e lping to ensure that similarly nutritious and fresh food reach es children and families in your local community.

Th e camp aign also builds on Tesco’s decade-long partnershi­p with FareShare. Since 2012, together they have redistribu­ted more than 130 million meals.

FareShare is made up of 18 independen­t organisati­ons, working together to arrange for nourishing surplus food to be passed on to more than 10,500 charities and groups. Each week, it provides
