REAL St George are proving the real deal when it comes to their drive for District League Division Five honours this term.

Their 7-1 home victory over Tormarton Reserves marked their fifth win on the spin amid an unbeaten stretch extended to seven games approaching this Saturday’s next test away against Nicholas Wanderers B (2.30pm).

Real St George, third in the table with three games in hand with which to try and dislodge leaders Redfield Rovers, had Shane Allison’s hat-trick, Kyle Williams’ double and Dwayne McGloire and Jordan Williams to thank for their latest win, a Riyomi Kondwani own goal offering Tormarton consolation.

That win came after a 5-0 away success over Hanham Abbotonians Colts, which came via Allison’s brace, goalkeeper Maciej Jesionowski’s penalty, Luke Francis’ scissor kick strike, plus Makinde Kondwani’s effort.

Hallen Rangers, with only two matches left and clinging to second spot, thrashed Hengrove 88 6-1.

AFC Mangotsfield District look unstoppable in the Senior Division right now, lurking in fourth place. They surged to a ninth straight win with a 5-1 away success over secondplaced Bedminster Down via pairs for Jordan Powell and Steve Wingrove, and Mark Gifford’s strike. It’s form that Mangotsfield will be looking to capitalise on as they push for top-two status with games in hand, starting at Patchway Town Reserves on Saturday (2.30pm).

Seymour United Reserves are enjoying a purple patch second from the foot of the top-tier standings. They secured a second straight win, and only their third all season, courtesy of a 3-1 away defeat of high-riding Stapleton thanks to Jason Simmonds’ double and James Lau’s effort. There was delight for Lawrence Rovers, who responded to a 2-0 Scott Park reverse seven days prior at the hands of hosts Patchway Reserves with a 4-2 victory over those same opponents.

There was disappointment for leaders AEK-BOCO A, whose perfect winning record finally ended at the 20th appearance in a 2-1 home defeat by an Real Thornbury

Second-placed Bristol Barcelona kept up their hopes of catching Thornbury Town Reserves at the Division One summit, although they may have to win all their remaining five fixtures to stand a chance.

Whilst Thorns, who have played two games more, were maintaining a five-point advantage over their closest rivals with a 6-2 win at MPK Lofts, Barca were keeping up with a 7-1 home win over Iron Acton Reserves. Bristol Barcelona bid to keep those chances of the First Division crown alive this Saturday (2.30pm) at Sea Mills Park, who registered a 2-2 home draw with Bradley Stoke Town Reserves. Brimsham Green claimed a first win since mid-October with a 1-0 away win over Olveston United Reserves.

In Division Two, third-bottom Nicholas Wanderers A completed their fixtures with a 3-2 win at bottom-placed Greyfriars Athletic Reserves.

Seymour United A also wrapped up their programme – Division Three – with a 5-2 home defeat of De Veys Reserves. The win lifted Seymour above second-bottom De Veys, both with 13 points from 18 complete outings and AFC Grace finised bottom of the pack with a solitary point.

Thornbury Town A’s 6-0 romp at Iron Acton A ensured they finished runners up to Third Division champions AFC Mangotsfield District Reserves and above thirdplaced Longwell Green Sports B on goal difference. Chris Gwilliam’s fifth-placed Longwell Green Sports C dished out a 6-1 Division Four away hiding to Hanham Athletic Vets.
