CRIBBS could yet end the season with some silverware after a 4-0 victory at Malmesbury Victoria in the quarter-finals of the Hellenic League’s Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup.

After a strong league campaign, which will see them finish third - or fourth if Malvern win their last game - Cribbs eased past Malmesbury thanks to two goals from top scorer Steve Murray, one from Niza Chilufya and an own goal, having been 1-0 up at the break.

In the Supplementary Cup, Roman Glass St George booked a place in the quarter-finals with a 4-2 victory at Thornbury Town.

Chipping Sodbury Town, though, will not be joining them in the last eight after going down 3-2 at home to Shortwood United. Levi Cox and Adey Harvey scored for

Sodbury in a first half which ended 2-2. Shortwood progressed after scoring a late penalty.

In the Toolstation League, Cadbury Heath’s impressive upturn in form over the past couple of months continued with a 3-1 win at home to bottom side Bridport.

Heath, who overcame Ashton & Backwell 2-0 in midweek to set up a Les Phillips Cup semi-final against Keynsham, were indebted to two strikes from veteran joint playermanager Matt Huxley and one from Mohammed Jeng.

Bitton hosted title favourites Tavistock and, following a goalless first half, the Devon side ran out 4-0 winners.

Warren Daw’s 25-yard strike broke the deadlock, Dan Evans made it 2-0, then two goals from prolific striker Liam Prynn sealed the win.

Eighth-placed Clevedon Town fell behind early on to Brislington but stormed back to win 4-1 at the Everyone Active Stadium.

Ethan Feltham volleyed home a 27th-minute equaliser, then two goals shortly before half-time, from Mitch Osmond and Archie Ferris, put the Seasiders in command. Alex Camm added a fourth with a 57th-minute header.

Ashton & Backwell won by the same scoreline against Millbrook in Cornwall, with Henry Sady, Charlie Saunders and Conor Hartley among their goalscorers.

In the First Division, Sherborne Town moved closer to clinching the title after a late penalty secured a 3-2 home win against Oldland Abbotonians. Andrew Nash had put the mid-table visitors ahead on 14 minutes. Then, following two Sherborne goals in the first half, Owen McCallum drew Abbotonians level on the hour-mark.

Bristol Telephones crashed 8-0 at Wincanton Town, who moved up to second after Welton Rovers were held to a 1-1 draw at Portishead Town. Joe Garland headed home from a corner to give Welton a half-time lead, but Calum Townsend equalised late on with a penalty.

Tytherington Rocks lost 3-0 at fourth-placed Warminster Town, while two Greg Parr penalties couldn’t saved Almondsbury from a 4-2 home defeat to Wells City.

Devizes Town gave themselves hope of avoiding bottom spot after they won 2-1 at Longwell Green Sports, while second bottom Bishops Lydeard lost 3-0 at home to Bishop Sutton. Two Luke Bryan goals earned Odd Down a point from a 2-2 draw at Radstock Town, but Hengrove Athletic went down 3-0 at Cheddar and Lebeq United lost 3-2 at home to Gillingham.
