NEXT STOP…CENTRAL SOUTH WALES

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A TEACHING OR LEADERSHIP POST WITH A DIFFERENCE? ARE YOU A WELSH SPEAKER?

-

We understand that in order to attract the best practitioners and leaders, we need to provide the best opportunities and we believe that the Central South Wales region offers this and more.

From a bustling capital city (voted Britain’s most sociable city) and other towns within easy reach, to lush valleys and mountains, peaceful rural villages and rugged coastline, our diverse region is sure to offer something for everyone. The region is the fastest growing region in Wales covering the capital city and economic heartland of Wales. You’ll benefit from a high standard of living in a desirable and affordable place to work, live and enjoy.

Central South Consortium (CSC), one of Wales’ regional school improvement consortia, works on behalf of five local authorities in the Central South Wales region and with schools to deliver school improvement services by supporting and challenging schools in their work to improve educational outcomes. Schools in the region serve a third of school aged children in Wales as well as both the most diverse and deprived communities of Wales. The region includes many outstanding schools and nothing is more critical to the people who live in this region than the quality of education that young people receive.

With over 380 schools, we have a wealth of opportunities for talented practitioners to make a real impact on the lives of children and young people across Cardiff, Bridgend, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Schools in the Central South Wales region are seeking inspirational teachers, teaching assistants and leaders right now! Are you a Welsh speaker?

We are fortunate to have excellent Welsh medium schools across the region who are working hard to support our national ambition of 1 million Welsh speakers by 2050. Our Welsh medium schools are keen to attract excellent practitioners who are able to teach through the medium of Welsh and this is an exciting opportunity to consider a move to one of Wales’ most diverse regions.

In exchange for your knowledge, skills and experience, we will provide…

• Support from Central South Consortium from Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and becoming a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT), to career development at all stages, including middle and senior leadership, headship and beyond.

• An extensive professional learning offer to keep you up to date on key reform, such as Curriculum for Wales, to develop your practice and enhance future career prospects.

• Opportunities to collaborate and share practice with other practitioners across the region as part of our self-improving school system, the Central South Wales Challenge (CSWC).

• Professional learning to develop your own Welsh language skills.
