SKIPPER Ollie Haynes compiled his second successive WEPL century for Knowle who romped in by 173 runs in the derby at Brislington to make it two wins from two games in the Bristol & North Somerset division.

Batting at three, Haynes followed his 105 last weekend against Bristol 2nds with 164 off 144 (17 fours, seven sixes) as his side piled up 327-5 after winning the toss.

Curtis Blakemore added important support with 56 in a thirdwicket stand of 163, while Fred Barton’s unbeaten 44 off only 21 (two fours, four sixes) piled on the agony for Brislington, whose reply folded from 67-1 to 154 all out, with opener Will Thomas top-scoring on 42.

Pick of the Knowle attack were Haynes, who bagged 2-18 from six overs, and Jacob Reeves (2-41 from ten).

Next up for Knowle is a home date on Saturday against newcomers Bradley Stoke who opened their account with a 24-run triumph away to Bristol 2nds.

Opener Tom Laver led the visitors’ charge with 83 off 93 balls, putting on 113 for the first wicket with James Fletcher (34) to pave the way for a challenge of 285. Neil Pollard and Shamod Athulathmudali took three wickets apiece.

Opener Shazil Mustafa and captain Graham Herring both hit 61 in Bristol’s reply before Balaji Srinivas (4-43) and Owen Onslow (3-48) made inroads to close out the win.

Twyford House made it two in a row with a three-wicket home success over Keynsham.

Will Burston’s 106 off 111 balls (nine fours, four sixes) and 51 from fellow opener Raj Biswa paved the way for the visitors to total 254. Henry Trotman took 3-52, while there were also two wickets apiece for Alex Wilson and Parikshith Shetty.

Shetty’s explosive 64 from 37 (eight fours, three sixes) at the top of the order gave the Twyford reply plenty of momentum before Richard Trotman (49) and skipper Chris Taylor (61 not out) sealed the points with almost eight overs in hand.

Skipper Joe Thompson was run out for 98 for Congresbury who eventually edged Bedminster 2nds by 20 runs.

Matt Thompson also weighed in with 74 for Congresbury in a total of 268-7 ahead of Bedminster coming up short, despite the efforts of George Russell (63), Tom Pugsley (62 not out) and Mark Coombes (51) as Joe Thompson followed up with a haul of 3-53 from ten overs.

Opener Fin Yates’ unbeaten 100 from 145 (12 fours) proved to be in vain as Old Bristolians Westbury succumbed by 56 runs away to Bath 2nds.

» Rockhampton were bowled out for only 127 after winning the toss ahead of suffering an eight-wicket home defeat against Dumbleton in the Gloucestershire division.

» Paul Muchall of Bath will captain a WEPL XI in a T20 against Gloucestershire at Clifton College on Friday (5pm). Admission to the game is free.

WEPL: Paul Muchall, Sam Young, Jack Scrivens, George Axtell (all Bath), Basil Akram, Neil Clark, Kieran Bull (all Potterne), Marc Lezar (Thornbury), Ryan Kilmister (Dumbleton), Josh Smith (Lansdown), James Regan (Taunton St Andrews).
