Cricket Golden Hill see off Winsley to reach T20 second round

eased past Winsley by seven wickets to reach the second group round of the ECB Women’s Club T20.

Ruby Priscott claimed 2-5 from three overs as Winsley faded to 43 all out ahead of Liv Young (12 not out) top-scoring as Golden Hill completed the win with almost 10 overs to spare.

The Bristol side will now be home to either Huntley or Hatherley & Reddings who meet on Sunday.

Frenchay received a walkover against Clevedon and will now host Bath.

Langford cruised into the Oxfordshir­e group quarter-finals of the Voneus Village Cup with a ninewicket triumph away to Stanton Harcourt.

The home side were rushed out for 84 after losing the toss, Angus Findlay Wilson (3-14 from six) and Chris Sinsbury (3-15 from 6.4) the pick of the attack.

James Hewlett then crashed an unbeaten 56 from 41 (seven fours and a six) as Langford, who play in Division One of the Gloucester­shire County League, took less than 11 overs to reach their target.

Frocester will on Sunday (1pm) make a second attempt to complete their Gloucester­shire group clash against Winterbour­ne after wet weather prevented any play last weekend. The winners will be home to Marshfield, who received a walkover from Corse & Staunton.

Almondsbur­y were another club to receive free passage into the last eight of the Gloucester­shire group when Highnam Court withdrew. They will now be home to Apperley.

Rockhampto­n, competitio­n runners-up at Lord’s back in 2013, are due to be home to Gotheringt­on on Sunday (1pm).
